ARTWORK

1-channel projection of a series of photographies of local people with closed eyes

ARTIST’S STATEMENT

I met Aymen during a Cross Culture-Workshop by ifa and we connected quickly, on artistic visions for community-engaging projects, with humor and concern – and the love for light(s) and the images it creates. Migrating myself between documentary and conceptual photography, educational workshops, and participatory projects SEE DJERBA poses questions that move me and offer a platform for international exchange but locally rooted driven by the enthusiasm of people who don’t create just events but true encounters. I am happy to travel now to Aymen’s roots to continue the conversations and interactions with a broader community – and not least to SEE DJERBA and the lights of Tunisia.
