In our workshop we will give an overview and introduction into the technology of Projection Mapping and its artistic applications and potential. Through exact knowledge about the spatial properties of a surface and the position of the projectors it enables the creation of fascinating three-dimensional effects and optical illusions. You can find some examples on our website and more information about Xenorama at SEE DJERBA here.
In the workshop we will make use of the Open Source visual real-time toolkit VVVV. We will build simple spatial structures from paper or other materials and use them as projection surfaces for simple but stunning installations.
It would be great if the participants can bring a windows laptop and a three-button mouse. No programming experience is needed, but advanced knowledge about computers and digital technology will be very helpful.
