From September to December 2016, Aymen Gharbi was a fellow of the CrossCulture Program of IFA – Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen. The funding is dedicated to professionals of the Arab Countries to enhance their network and to deepen their expertise in Germany. Aymen Gharbi worked for three months at the Studio of Bettina Pelz focussing on curatorial projects. The mutual initiative of Aymen Gharbi and Bettina Pelz for SEE DJERBA is a result of this fruitful cooperation.

IFA supports selected follow-up projects of the CrossCulture Program. This support for SEE DJERBA was the essential encouragement to realize the experimental program. It is the foundation of the project and all other partners added support with their networks, their staff, and their resources to realize SEE DJERBA.
